THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly comes from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's law practice is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She focuses her practice on divorce cases, alimony issues marital property division fights over child custody and child support arrangements. She also handles the post-divorce and enforcement of issues as well as step-parent adoptions, private adoptions for parties as and concerns regarding child welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning issues, such as wills, trusts, probate, and estate administration, in addition to commercial, contract, and civil litigation cases. Ashley has served as a mediator appointed by a court since the year, assisting parties in helping them settle their disputes without needing to litigate or court involvement. In addition to mediations that are court-appointed, Ashley also mediates in private cases for people who want to stay clear of the court process and litigation.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She then pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. Graduating in 2013, she excelled academically, placing among the top 10 students in her class. While in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the esteemed Western New England Law Review and demonstrated her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship experience, working for notable jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was privileged to serve as a law assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown Maryland to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her primary focus in the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases that involved child welfare. Ashley's devoted efforts played a significant role in helping children who suffered neglect or abuse at of their caregivers or parents. Her dedication to social justice spanned far beyond the legal realm as she was active as an executive member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force, working diligently to educate the public about human trafficking in the tri-state area.

In 2017 she was a founding member at Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and established her practice in family law including custody, divorce and child maintenance as well as guardianships – as well as financial planning and estate planning – wills, trusts, power of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy – and mediation.

Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023, with the goal of providing an individual approach to each client's needs.
